The Washington Clean Technology Alliance has four standing committees:

Kirt Montague, Plum Energy

Board of Directors:  The Board is the governing body of the WCTA.   It is made up of executives that are elected from member companies.   Board members serve staggered three-year terms and meet quarterly.  Kirt Montague of Plum Energy is the Board Chair.  Bill McSherry of Boeing is the Past Chair.  Marc Cummings of Battelle / Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is the Vice Chair.

Executive Committee:  The Executive Committee meets monthly to deal with oversight of the organization.  The Executive Committee consists of twelve board members.  Each Board officer is a member (Chair, Vice Chair, Past Chair, Treasurer, and Treasurer).  Additional members of the Board are elected to the committee by the full Board of Directors at large or as chairs of WCTA committees.  Current Executive Committee members include David Allen, McKinstry; David Benson, Stoel Rives; Maggie Brown, APCO Worldwide; Marc Cummings, Battelle / Pacific Northwest National Laboratory; Steve Gerritson, enterpiseSeattle; Steve Klein, Snohomish County PUD; Jon Kroman, Kroman Law; Thom Kroon, Thomas James International; Oren Lang-Furr, Ernst & Young; Bill McSherry, Boeing; Kirt Montague, Plum Energy; and Gail Twelves, Twelves Unlimited.

Marc Cummings, Battelle / Pacific Northwest National Laboratory

Government Affairs Committee:  The Government Affairs Committee (GAC)  is chaired by Marc Cummings of Battelle/Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.   Its purpose is to oversee the WCTA’s positions on issues of public policy.

WCTA members bring issues to the attention of the Government Affairs Committee.  The GAC then makes recommendations to the Board of Directors, which has ultimate approval authority over WCTA positions on matters of public policy.  In general, the WCTA is concerned with the development of the cleantech economic sector in Washington State:  Jobs, products, company formation, and the success of its members.

WCTA members are welcome to join the Government Affairs Committee.  Contact us to get on the mailing list.

Thom Kroon, Thomas James International

Events Committee:  The Events Committee is chaired by Thom Kroon, Thomas James International.  The Events Committee oversees and plans WCTA networking, social, and educational events.  This includes monthly breakfasts/lunches, social events during the summer and after hours, and bigger events such as industry showcases and the annual meeting.

WCTA invites members to join the Events team to pool resources, plan and develop programs that connect our cleantech community through education and social activities.  Contact Maureen@wacleantech.org for details about time commitment and meeting dates.
